Since August 2012, five gap fillers are operating without defect in outside conditions at the Charles de Gaulle station on the Orléans tramway in France.
They fill horizontal gaps up to 280mm.
These gap filler are in the curve of the two platforms at the station, in order to allow accessibility to the People with Reduced Mobility (PRM).
The system measures the exact value of the gap, depending on the position of stop of the tram, in order to adjust the deployment of the gap filler, enabling of maintain a constant distance (parameterized) between the edge of the gap filled and the door sill.
